Dr. Chryssa Kouveliotou
received the "Astrophysics Daniel
Heineman 2012» Prize as a recognition of excellence in Astrophysics.
In the official announcement of the American Astronomical Society, representatives
point out the reasons for awarding Dr. Chryssa Kouveliotou.

In specific, it is stated: "The prize is awarded
to the extensive achievements and discoveries in the fields of gamma ray burst type
and magnetars. Particularly notable are the skills of Dr. Kouveliotou create partnerships,
efficiency and knowledge relating to the multi-wavelength observations. "
Dr. Chryssa Kouveliotou, works at the Marshall Space Flight NASA Center, in Huntsville, Alabama, and expressed gratitude for the recognition of efforts by the scientific community.
