International Award for Greek Biological Honey
During the 5th annual Biological Honey Competition BIOLMIEL, in Vibo Valentia (Calabria) of Italy, Biological Honey producers took part from many countries. Among these countries was Greece, with long tradition in honey recognized globally.
Among 200 products evaluated by an international committee ( as well as chemically tested for their quality), Greek awards exceeded the expected, as many Greek biological honey producers, took medals, such as:
Golden Medals
- Elati’s Honey: (etiquette) AXION ESTI, (producer) Antonios Dimakopoulos ( location: Argos, Argolidas)
- Thyme Honey: (etiquette) AMORGIANO, (producer) Panagiotis Matoulis ( location: Langada, Amorgos)
Silver Medals
- Chestnut Honey: (etiquette) AXION ESTI, (producer) Antonios Dimakopoulos ( location: Argos, Argolidas)
- Pine Honey: (etiquette) EVION, (producer) Nikolaos Ouranos (location: Ano Kalentini, Arta)
- Honey out of Fir tree, Thyme and flowers: (etiquette) KTIMA FOUGKA, producer Leonidas Petrou (location: Louka Ilias)
- Honeydew Honey: (etiquette) DRYADON & SCHERIA (producer) Stefanos Geranos (location Spartylas, Corfu)
- Flower Honey: (etiquette) MELITI & MYTHODIA (producer) Stefanos Geranos (location Spartylas, Corfu)

- BIOMEL PACK: A special award was given to bee producer Vassilaki (Corfu) for it’s special etiquette as well as its packaging
