HEALTH - Ralph The Volunteer Dog Driver

Ralf is a sweet dog, slightly longer than the others, Schnauzer breed.
The special with this volunteer driver dog, is that it helps sick children to walk and make their first steps at the aisles of children’s Hospital ‘Royal’ in Melbourne, Australia.
Ralph, not only helps to take children for a walk but many time stays during- exhaustive for the children-chemo therapy along with them in the chamber.

“Giant” Ralf as he is affectionately called brought a smile to the only 15-month Zeke Harrison who suffers from a rare genetic disorder that prevents the body to break down the protein and may even kill him.

The two-year Claire Couwenberg made her first walk with Ralf five days after surgery to remove cancerous tumors in the kidney. Claire's mother said her daughter gotherself out of bed just when she saw Ralf. "Once she saw him she got up slowly, with unsteady steps and began to walk. Now she is unstoppable. I am happy, I cannot find words ..." said the young mother.

Once again it is proved how much do dogs help patients, and especially young children.
