Electric energy will be produced by the walk of this summer's guests to one of the largest shopping centers in Europe, Westfield Stratford in east London.
In doing so, twenty rubber tiles will be mounted on a walk in the corridors of the shopping center Westfield Stratford in east London.
These tiles are designed to collect the kinetic energy of 40 million
pedestrians, estimated to be walking on this route every year. The energy generated is estimated to be enough to cover the exterior lighting of the shopping center at 50%.
Behind this project is the 26 year-old Laurence Kemball-Cook, founder of Pavegen Systems. Laurence inspired this idea when he received his degree in Industrial Design.

Such tiles are planned to placed in other points with massive concentration of passerby, such as tube stations, bus stops, airports, schools and main shopping streets.
