A
nasal spray will replace insulin
injection in the future.
This is what it is stated by an international team of scientists, led
by researchers from the University of Sunderland (UK) who tested this patent on
mice.
According
to healthtimes.gr, this nasal spray carries blood insulin inhalation and promises
to put an end to daily injections patients with diabetes, type 1 have to make.
One
spraying is enough to reduce patient’s blood sugar level for approximately 24
hours, that is longer time than the one guaranteed by insulin injections (the
effects of which last for only 9 hours).
This long effect is achieved because when the spray penetrates the nose it turns
into a gel, due to body’s temperature, allowing it to remain for the
time necessaryto begin it's effect.
