“ We Can Make it On our Own! ”
This was the moto of a voluntary action group in Katerini (district of Pieria, Greece ) who took the initiative to break intervens's profit on basic products such as potatoes and make a huge online order for all the citizens of Katerini. In particular, they managed to order 24 tones of potatoes from the famous for its potatoes Nevrokopi (district of Drama) with only 0,25 € (0,21£, 1.34$) per Kilo!!!

Last Saturday (25th February 2012),from 9 a.m. and for 4 hours the voluntary group delivered this huge amount of potatoes to 533 families of the city, at a very well organized parking where they had prepared everything up to the slightest detail (Information kiosks, control orders, a dispatcher, porter, transporters, senior assistants, cleaning responsible etc.)!!

Since this action had great correspondence, the team made another order of 35 tones for next Saturday, March 3d.
Many cities of Greece, are going to follow the example of Katerini and order agricultural products directly from the producers than the market itself.
What do you think? Can you do this in your community? I am sure you can! :)
