ECO NEWS - Pioneering Project: Producing Energy from Water Currents

Renes Development (a company working on the field of renewable resources in Greece) has applied to the Regulatory Energy Authority for the construction of a project that will collect underwater currents to produce electricity.


Cyclades Islands (Aegean Sea) - Greece

This is the first time such a project is going to be applied in Greece, and possibly globally, as abroad still tests are being made on this technology.

How it will work: a 2MW electricity station will be installed at the strait that generates underwater currencies between Andros and Tinos island,in the Aegean Sea.

According to company's plans, this project is estimated to be completed in two years.
